While we think you look fabulous… the fashion industry is actually one of the most destructive industries to our planet.
The World Economic Forum recently published an article sharing that fashion production makes up 10% of humanity's carbon emissions, dries up water sources, and pollutes rivers and streams. What's more, 85% of all textiles go to the dump each year. And washing some types of clothes sends thousands of bits of plastic into the ocean.
These are troubling statistics but there is hope! By creating simple changes in your shopping habits, you can help contribute to a better world and create less waste.
Join us for a proactive and productive discussion, led by Rachel Mednick, founder of The Fashion Circular, and Walnut Club Board Member. She will share vital insights on sustainable fashion and tips on how you can change the way you shop.
Additionally, we'll be joined by stylist Ashley Meyers, CEO and Founder of Main Line Fashionista. Ashley will show us how we can easily shop our own closets and make those old clothes feel new again!
Ashley is a Celebrity Stylist and On-Air Brand Ambassador and can be seen on QVC, NBC, ABC & WFMZ. She has also been awarded "Best Stylist" by Main Line Today Magazine in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
